Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CalJoi (the “App”) and our website at meetbe.app (together, the “Service”) collect, use, disclose, and protect information about you. It also describes your privacy rights and how to exercise them.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Scope and Who We Are
This Policy applies to personal data processed when you use the App or visit our website. For individuals in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom (UK), Switzerland, Brazil, California, and other jurisdictions with privacy laws, CalJoi is the controller of your personal data unless stated otherwise.
Contact: privacy@meetbe.app
2. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties as described below.
- Account and identity information: name or display name, email address, password or authentication tokens (including via Apple/Google, if used), and language preferences.
- App content you create: nutrition and fasting logs, water and activity entries, goals, reminders, notes, tags, and optional photos you upload. These can include wellness and health-related information that may be considered sensitive under certain laws.
- Device and technical information: device model, operating system, app version, unique device identifiers, crash data, performance diagnostics, IP address, and approximate location derived from IP.
- Usage data: features you use, timestamps, interactions, and in-app events to help us operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- Communications: messages you send to support, feedback, ratings, or survey responses.
- Payment and subscription information: if you purchase a subscription, we receive limited information from app stores or payment providers (e.g., transaction status and timestamps). We do not store full payment card numbers.
You may choose not to provide certain information; however, some features may not work without it.
3. How We Use Information
We process information for the following purposes:
- Provide and maintain the Service, including account creation, syncing, and core features such as nutrition and fasting tracking.
- Personalize and improve the Service, including recommendations, content organization, and interface localization.
- Analytics, research, and product development to understand usage and improve performance and reliability.
- Security and abuse prevention, including fraud monitoring, debugging, and threat detection.
- Communications, including service-related messages (e.g., changes, security notices), and—with your consent or as permitted by law—optional tips or marketing updates.
- Payments and subscriptions processing via app stores or payment providers.
- Compliance with legal obligations and to protect our rights, users, and the public.
We do not use information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.
4. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK/CH)
When required by law, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the Service you request.
- Consent: for certain optional processing (e.g., health-related entries, marketing communications). You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: to secure and improve the Service, prevent abuse, and perform limited analytics. We balance these interests against your rights.
- Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws and requests from authorities.
- Vital interests or public interest: in rare cases to protect life or safety.
Special categories of data (e.g., health-related entries) are processed only with your explicit consent or where otherwise permitted by law, and you can delete these entries at any time in the App.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website may use cookies or similar technologies (such as pixels) for essential functionality, analytics, and remembering your preferences. For example, Google Analytics may set cookies or use similar identifiers to measure website usage and compile reports. You can control cookies via your browser settings and, where available, through any cookie preference controls on our website. The App itself does not rely on browser cookies, but may use device identifiers and local storage for core functionality, security, and performance.
6. Sharing and Disclosure
We share information only as needed to operate the Service, comply with law, or with your direction:
- Service providers: cloud hosting, data storage, analytics, crash reporting, messaging, customer support, and payment processing. These providers may access information solely to perform services for us and must protect it.
- Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards and continued protection.
- Legal and safety: to comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal requests, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, and property of users and the public.
- With your consent or direction: for example, if you export or share content.
Analytics Providers
We use AppMetrica (provided by YANDEX LLC), Google Firebase Analytics, and Google Analytics (provided by Google LLC) to measure how the App and website are used, performance, and the effectiveness of product changes. These tools help us understand how features are used so we can improve reliability, usability, and quality.
We also use Apphud (provided by Apphud Inc.) to help manage subscriptions (for example, validating subscription status and entitlements) and to measure paywall and subscription performance.
These services process the following categories of data in line with their documentation: device and app identifiers (e.g., IDFA/GAID if permitted by your OS settings), device model, operating system and app version, language, IP address (used to derive approximate location), install/referrer information, session timestamps, website and in‑app events and interactions, and crash/performance diagnostics. Apphud may also process subscription-related events and purchase metadata necessary to provide subscription status and analytics (we do not receive or store full payment card numbers).
We configure these tools for product analytics only; we do not use them for interest‑based advertising or to build profiles across other apps or websites.
Legal basis (EEA/UK/CH): our legitimate interests in understanding and improving the Service. Where required by law (for example, for non-essential cookies and similar technologies on our website), we obtain your consent before enabling analytics.
Controls: You can limit analytics collection in the App using your device settings (for example, on iOS: disable “Allow Apps to Request to Track” and reset the advertising identifier; on Android: opt out of Ads Personalization and reset the advertising ID). You can limit analytics on the website using your browser cookie controls and, for Google Analytics, the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also contact privacy@meetbe.app to request opt‑out or deletion of analytics identifiers associated with your account/device.

We do not sell your personal information and do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law. If that changes, we will update this Policy and provide required controls.
AI Processing (OpenAI)
Some features of the Service use artificial intelligence to process the data you voluntarily provide (for example, recognizing foods from photos or generating summaries). These AI capabilities are powered by OpenAI. When you use AI features, your inputs—along with technical metadata necessary to provide the feature—may be transmitted to OpenAI for processing, and the outputs are returned to you. We instruct our provider to process this data solely to deliver the requested functionality and to apply appropriate safeguards. For more information about OpenAI’s data practices, please refer to their documentation and privacy materials.
7. International Transfers
We may transfer, store, and process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum/IDTA) and conduct transfer assessments. You may contact us for a copy of relevant safeguards, where legally permitted.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements, then either delete or anonymize it. Typical retention includes:
- Account data: for the life of the account and a reasonable period thereafter if needed for legitimate purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, legal compliance).
- App content (e.g., logs and photos): until you delete entries, delete your account, or as required for the Service to function. Deleted content may persist in backups for a limited period.
- Analytics and diagnostics: retained for shorter periods in aggregate or de-identified form when possible.
9. Your Rights
Your rights vary by jurisdiction and may include:
- Access, portability, and correction: request a copy of your data or ask us to correct inaccuracies.
- Deletion: request deletion of your personal data, subject to lawful exceptions.
- Objection and restriction (EEA/UK/CH): object to or restrict certain processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent (e.g., health-related entries or marketing), you can withdraw at any time.
- Opt-out of marketing: use in-app controls or unsubscribe links.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): right to know, delete, correct, and limit use of sensitive personal information; right to opt out of sale/sharing (we don’t sell/share as defined); and right not to be discriminated against for exercising rights.
- Brazil (LGPD): confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, portability, deletion, information about sharing, and revocation of consent.
How to exercise your rights: use in-app settings where available or contact privacy@meetbe.app. We may ask you to verify your identity. If we decline your request as permitted by law, you may appeal by replying to our decision email. You also have the right to contact your local data protection authority.
10. Security
We employ technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and routine security practices. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. In the EEA/UK/CH, you must be at least 16 (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. Certain health-related features, including AI recognition and fasting, are not available to users under 14 and should not be used by anyone with medical contraindications. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it and restrict feature access as applicable.
12. Third-Party Links and Integrations
The Service may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third party you interact with.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. If changes materially affect your rights or how we use your data, we will provide additional notice as required by law.
14. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Policy or our data practices, contact us at: privacy@meetbe.app. If you are located in the EEA/UK/CH, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
